No Resolutions, just goals
I've done away with the idea of resolutions. I personally know of no one who actually has kept a single resolution made. I do however know many people who have made and kept goals they set for themselves. So, for 2011, I'm setting goals for the year. I hope by putting them out here for you all to see that I'll have some help with accountability.
*Purge, purge, purge - Jeff and I have done some talking recently and agree that we have ENTIRELY too much "stuff". He goes back to school in a week, but we are getting the house cleaned, organized as much as possible and starting to go through things to store, sell, or donate. In my mind, there is no good reason to live in excess when there are so many out there who are just barely scraping by.
*Eat at HOME - This may seem stupid, but I'm horrible (especially now being pregnant) about being "tired" and ordering or picking up dinner. I can't even imagine how much money has gone down the drain with eating out. The goal will be to eat out ONE time a payday at somewhere special and otherwise to eat AT home, actually finish out leftovers and eat healthfully.
*Lose weight - This isn't really something I can do until the baby comes, so starting August 1st, the first step of this goal will be to get to pre-pregnancy weight, and the second part of the goal will be to lose an additional 15 pounds by December 31st.
*Give new musicians/styles of music a chance - I've actually already done this and LOVE the group I've started listening to. The group is 100 Monkeys and they are labeled as "funk rock". Some of the sound is kind of bluesy, some is Jim Morrison-esque. Overall...I just LOVE it. It's fun, funky and fresh!
*Pick out and purchase Kamden's homeschooling materials - pretty straight forward. The decision is made (unless unforseen circumstances occur) and we'll be homeschooling both kids. I'm really excited!
