I'm just "whelmed"

messy

If you've known me for very long at all, you know I'm not a great housekeeper.  I'm not a slob by any means, but we just have a LOT of STUFF and it's hard to control sometimes.  I started off this week with the best of intentions.  I was going to have the entire house organized by Friday.

Um...yeah...  It has more turned into just moving things from one pile or box to another.  I know we're making progress somewhere, because these random empty boxes have shown up - but I'm just not seeing it.

I really want to be able to have people over...and right now I just couldn't.  I mean, even those who really, REALLY love me and could look past the clutter I'd not want to come by right now.

I want to be motivated to do it...but instead I just want to sit and do nothing.  I'm trying to just work in short spurts...it just feels like it's never going to get done, you know?  I really wish I were one of those naturally neat people.  Not to the point that a little clutter made me OCD, but to where I just naturally wanted to pick up and keep things nice.

I'm sure there is a woman like that inside me.  Apparently she's being held hostage with the thinner me though.

  1. I think my inner Cleaning Lady and Thinner me lady have been on strike for awhile. I just found my shoes that I had in boxes when we moved into my house a YEAR ago. Yeah I would like to have a week worth of Cleaning OCDness. Just a week. When you find the soultion let me know.

  2. I know what you mean, but we live in this house and we use the area to live in. do what you can when you can. I always apologize when we have company and they always say 'yours looks like ours', makes me feel a little better.

  3. the only people that I actually know with houses that clean are people with no kids, or kids that are much older... anybody with young kids can attest to their house being about the same lol

  4. I love your sense of humor :-) I know what you mean about having people over. My hubby is a lot more particular about how the house looks than I am so we rarely have anybody over. I am good at de-cluttering most times, but actual CLEANING is an altogether different animal
