A Tribute to My Husband

Jeff got a gift that contained this poem tonight...I wanted to share it.

It must be very difficult to be a man in grief
Since men don't cry and men are strong.
No tears can bring relief.
It must be very difficult to stand up to the test
And take the calls and vistors so she can get some rest.
They always ask if she's all right and what she's going through
But seldom take his hand and ask, 'My friend, but how are you?'
He hears her crying in the night and thinks his heart will break.
He dries his tears and comforts her but stays strong for her sake.
It must be very difficult to start each day anew
And try to be so very brave.
 He lost his baby too."

Jeff,  I don't know if you will ever read this blog...but I love you.  I love you more than my own life...and it's okay to not be strong all the time.  It's okay to cry with me.  It's okay to let me be strong for you.  We both lost Kaidi, and I want you to be able to grieve too...  Please, please don't feel bad to do so...

  1. Right on, little momma! I thought this poem was VERY THOUGHTFUL of the grieving fathers, most especially my sweet son in love. Thanks for posting this to your blog and thanks, Cora, for this gift.
