Oh My, Oh My, Oh My...

I know it's been a while since I posted, but there has been a LOT going on.

Kamden:  He continues to amaze me with the number of and frequency of the words he's picking up.  He's recently learned the phrase "Put it back!" (one guess how often he hears THAT one) and took it upon himself to tell his daddy to do so quite loudly during Sunday morning service this week.  He says it in quite a sweet manner, however, and has also started saying it as he puts his toys and books away.  It's exciting to see the things we tell him "sticking" and making true association with his every day life.  Palm Sunday morning, Kamden got to hunt Easter eggs with the Kids' Church group at our church.   Last year, he wasn't walking and so "hunting eggs" was pretty minimal work for him (ie tossing 4 eggs into the middle of a room so he could crawl to them) and so he was extremely excited to hunt them this year!

C'mon Dad!!!

Hunting with his dad, my sister and his little "girlfriend".

Jeff: Jeff received notification that he is approved for the GI Bill, so the next step is to take him to Amarillo College and get in his application for Summer Session and help him take the placement test.  We are continuing to apply for potential jobs for him as well.  The advisor at the VA encouraged Jeff to pick a job over school if he were offered a great paying job before or even during the school session.  Since he has to apply for a certain number of jobs a week to continue his unemployment until classes start (at that time, the job search part of things is waived for veteran's using the GI Bill) so we are keeping our ears open and praying for God's perfect will and direction for our family.

Tara: I started knee injections today to see if we can start regrowing cartilage.  It's a series of three injections and from what the doctor said today, I should know within 2-3 weeks of the last injection if they are going to work for me.  They tend to work in about 70% of cases, so I'm praying this is the fix for me.  One of my cousins had the same injections last year and said that it made a big difference for her.  I'm looking into becoming a notary for mortgage companies to be able to help with our income and still be able to make my own hours.  Eventually I do want to do to cosmetology school, but until my knee is in full functioning order, I don't think that it'd be a good idea to be in class 10 hours a day, 7 and a half of which would be standing on concrete floors.  I know that God will allow and provide for my dreams in His perfect time.  Until then, I'll do what I know I can do and what needs to be done.  I think too that to help me keep my goals in view, I'll list them here so that my "faithful followers" can help keep me motivated too.

  1. Lose 25lbs by mid-June
  2. Find a house for Jeff, Kamden and I
  3. Re-vamp/re-create our family budget

Comments

  1. You can do it! Set smaller goals too, like hunt for x amount of houses a week.
