Ah luff Mama!
Yes, Kamden said it today! He's learned SO much in the month since we moved. I can't believe what being around another baby his age 5 days a week has done for him.
Since moving, he's done the following: (I know that some of these things don't have a THING to do with being around another baby, but it's been a while since I updated about his accomplishments, so here goes!)
*Sitting independently
*Pushing himself up to sitting from laying down both on his back and stomach
*Clearly saying SEVERAL words (Mama, Dada, Papaw, Dog, Hi, Tuck (Tucker), Love, Jesus)
*ENJOYING bathtime - this is quite the accomplishment.
*Getting up on all fours
*Army crawling to get any and everywhere he wants.
I know it may not seem like much considering ALL babies do these things, but considering that 6 weeks ago we were being told that he was severly behind and would need extensive OT and PT to catch up, I'm rejoicing in the miracle of his life and his accomplishments. His entire life this far and I'm sure for the rest of his life are proof of the exsistence of the almighty God and his miracle working power.
This last week I directed the first official M.O.P.S (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting at my church and we had a fantastic time. I am really excited to see what God does through this group and excited to connect with some amazing moms. We plan to participate in the March of Dimes on the 25th of April and I can't wait.
Jeff is doing pretty well. His days right now are mainly 12 hours on duty followed by 12 hours off duty. He was given the rank of Corpral yesterday - it doesn't change his pay, but it does increase his duties. It's also a good sign of pending promotion to Sargent. He's not sure when to expect the promotion, but the change in rank is generally a good indicator of it happening soon.
Kamden and I will be traveling down to El Paso in about 24 days to spend some time with Jeff while he has time off. While we will have to travel back late that afternoon, we are super excited that Jeff is going to get to be with us on Kamden's first birthday. I know that he was really concerned that he wasn't going to get to spend that special day with us, so it's a huge answer to prayer that it worked out like it did.

ReplyDeleteSo, you'll be together ON Kamden's birthday? How did you pull that off?
ReplyDeleteJeff actually attempted requesting a specific date for his 4 day pass. Normally that doesn't happen but it did this time!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear Kamden is reaching those milestones! Your heart must have melted when he finally said I Love You! Let us know how his first birthday goes! Best wishes!
