A Year Later
The last time I posted here was a year ago. I thought I'd take my chances at vlogging, but I never stayed very consistent with it or got much traffic. It may be something I do occasionally in the future, but this was always my safe place to come and share or vent, and I'm really needing a place like that again. It's just time.
So here it is. The rebirth of my blog.
So much has happened in the last year that I'm not even going to attempt to catch up on all of that. Let's just start from where we are now.
Kamden completes fourth grade this coming week, and let me tell you, I can hardly believe we are on our last year of elementary school. He has made huge progress in his education this year and is thriving in social studies, reading and writing. We still have a long way to go with some other courses, primarily math, but we are getting there and most importantly, he isn't giving up. Kamden continues to do speech and occupational therapies a couple of times a week and this summer we will be starting him in behavioral therapy to try and work through some anxiety issues and in physical therapy to try and take care of some issues related to hypotonia. His plans for this summer include swimming, doing the summer reading program at the library and play with me. (This was all relayed to me as I type from the opposite end of the couch.)
As for me, there have been a lot of ups and downs in the last month that I hesitate to share because they don't all solely affect me and therefore are not my truth to share. However, please know that my little circle of family and friends would covet your prayers and positive thoughts as there is some big healing that needs to happen for many people. This summer will find me in the first phase of a major weight loss journey. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, but I have major motivation now as I have been asked to be in a dear friend's wedding in October of 2020. While I know the only reason I should have for losing weight is that I'm "doing it for me", I genuinely am one who needs motivation from outside sources or I won't follow through. I have just over a year until my measurements for my bridesmaid's dress have to be turned in so I am anxious to get started and share my journey with everyone.
I know this post wasn't long and wasn't very focused, but it's a start. I plan to post blog updates three times a week, if possible, and will keep more of my attentions focused here than on other social media. I'm finding that regular social media is poisoning my thoughts and emotions lately and it's time to step back from it all and just cleanse heart, soul and mind.
God Bless,
Tara
